Історія
Probably originally written by Freddie Chetyrbok of Grandview, Manitoba. The line "Ring my bell" was originally "Go to hell", and the other verses were in a slightly different order. The Ron Cahute version rapidly become the canonical one after he sang it.
Source: Polkas on the Prairies - Brian A Cherwick, Ст 134-136
The "Mundare" verse was later added by Tyt i tam and is considered optional.
However, Peter Hnatiuk has substantially different recording of the song from almost the exact same time, so it's unclear if Freddie actually wrote the melody, or if he even wrote the lyrics, as this doesn't seem to be documented anywhere
Corrected a few lyrics mistakes from other sources --Phone interview with Ron Cahute conducted by Danylo Centore 21 August, 2020
