Семён Канада's version has been credited by people as the original in the past. However, his first CD with the song, "Пьяница" credits the song as a folk song ("Гоп стоп Канада - муз., сл. народные"). See [https://imgur.com/g6TrMGH picture of the back cover]. It's unclear where he learned it. | |||

Буд здрава землице (1991) spivanyk from Kyiv dedicated to "songs about emigration", which includes a lengthy introduction and a number of songs etymologically related to Гоп-стоп Канада.
Related to "Хей гоп Європа баба хоче хлопа" (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2jkl2YBBU8)
A number of related lyrics are attested in Robert Klymasz's "Ukrainian-Canadian Immigrant Folksong Cycle (1970)", but the melodies are completely different. One such song is Канадо, канадо, яка ти мні мила.
