Буд здрава землице (1991) spivanyk from Kyiv dedicated to "songs about emigration", which includes a lengthy introduction and a number of songs etymologically related to Гоп-стоп Канада.
Related to "Хей гоп Європа баба хоче хлопа" (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2jkl2YBBU8)
A number of related lyrics are attested in Robert Klymasz's "Ukrainian-Canadian Immigrant Folksong Cycle (1970)", but the melodies are completely different. One such song is Канадо, канадо, яка ти мні мила.
Ron Cahute claims to have gotten the song from an album from Ukraine, though he cannot remember the details. - Phone interview with Ron Cahute conducted by Danylo Centore 21 August, 2020
Семён Канада's version has been credited by people as the original in the past. However, his first CD with the song, "Пьяница" credits the song as a folk song ("Гоп стоп Канада - муз., сл. народные"). See picture of the back cover. It's unclear where he learned it.
