Unknown authorship. It uses the Doo-Wop chord progression which means that it's probably based on a Doo-Wop song. We'll likely never know for sure the original song it was based on as there are many songs with melodies close enough that it might be a modification of any of those (e.g. "[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFch8vH81ks Runaround Sue]" - Dion), but after listening to Doo-Wop playlists for hours, "Never" by The Earls was by far the most similar.
