Ewgen Zukowsky i Sonja Liszczak
Operation, operation! Hello, hello!
Eh, give me one-one і два oh-oh, Бронзвілю
Alright! Hello

Hello hello,

What's a matter,

Ну, come on до мене, right away

Alright, я зараз taxi приїду
Goodbye!

Goodbye, goodbye!
Oh gee

Come in, до середини

Hello

Hello, hello
Hello
Ну сідай next to me

Словник

  • Парди = party
  • Operation = Switchboard operator
  • one-one і два oh-oh Бронзвілю = Either "1100 Brownsville" ("два oh-oh"="2 O's"="00") or "11200 Brownsville" ("два oh-oh"="200")
    • This is a phone number from New York City's historical phone system, where phone numbers were 4 digits preceded by a 3 character exchange (e.g. CLO-9611 = CLOverdale 9611) prior to 1930 or 5 digits preceded by a 2 digit exchange (e.g. CL8-9611 = CLoverdale 8-9611) after 1930. This was recorded right around when the exchanges switched so it's unclear which pattern was being followed, and the text is a little ambiguous. Also unclear which exchange this actually referred to as Brownsville doesn't seem to have had a dedicated exchange. Most likely the operator would just be familiar with what the correct exchange for that neighborhood would be.

  • кумотра = close friend (see Polish "kumoter")
  • Би покоси сіли = сіли here is past tense of "сіяти" - they would sow the field
