Тихий сон по горах ходить,

За рученьку нiчку водить.

I шумлять ліси все тихше,

Сон малих звiрят колише.

Не шуміть, ліси зелені,

Спати йдіть, вітри студені.

Най малята сплять здорові,

Най їм сняться сни чудові.

Аж на небі зазоріє,

Сонце їх малих зогріє.

I зогріє, й поцілує,

I світами помандрує.

Історія

Осип Маковей wrote this poem in 1899 (source). It is sung to the melody of the chorus of "Go West" by the Village People. It is known that Ігор Бущак [1] set the words to this melody.

Ігор Бущак credits the lyrics to Олександр Олесь and the melody to Александр Алєксандров in the intro to his rendition for the song. This is incorrect. The melody from Mykola Lysenko's "Epic Fragment" is probably used [2]
