From WikiSpiv
Tony the Troubadour (Tony Stecheson)
Anniversary Song" - Al Jolson
Oh, how we danced on the night we were wed
We vowed our true love, though a word wasn't said
The world was in bloom, there were stars in the skies
Except for the few that were there in your eyes
Dear, as I held you so close in my arms
Angels were singing a hymn to your charms
Two hearts gently beating, murmuring low
My darling, I love you so (2)
Written by Tony the Troubadour according to Ron Cahute. - Phone interview with Ron Cahute conducted by Danylo Centore 21 August, 2020
I have so far been unable to find the original recording. However, there is a 1947 Toronto radio guide which mentions both Tony the Troubadour and the Anniversary Song, suggesting Tony was actively singing and aware of the song at the time it was popular.
