Sittin' all alone, just listening to the breeze

I never knew his name, cause he never told me

And I never thought to ask him

But he was my friend, even though we never spoke much

He talked to me with his music

And I knew that he was as gentle as the breeze

Cause when he played he just made you feel good

Playin' his accordion under that tree

I remember everybody would go there

And all the little children, sittin' all around him

Watching and listening to him play

Singing all the songs they knew, and if they didn't know them

They'd still sing, but that's alright

You see he didn't mind 'cause he lived all alone

And he loved when we'd sit there and listen

Soon they all start to sing along

It's the smiles on their faces

They don't care if I play

The years have gone by, and the children are all grown up

And they don't go there anymore

The place where he stayed and the songs that he played

And the sound of the laughter are all gone now

But every now and then I sit back and I close my eyes

And I can still hear the music

And how the children would laugh and sing as he played

And I smile cause it still makes me feel good
